I pruchased a pair of the 12V new Rigid cordless drills at Home Depot last fall when the Rigid line was just being introduced (lifetime guarantee, etc.). Anyone having experience with batteries draining sooner than one would expect?

New rechargeable battery packs need to be discharged and recharged several times before they will charge to their full capacity. If you are still having problems after a half a dozen recharge cycles there may be some problem with the charger or the batteries.
Be sure to discharge the batteries to the point that the drill is starting to bog down slightly before you put them in the charger, but don't discharge the batteries to the point that the drill is dead, which can damage the batteries.
I own the same drill and it did run down the battery quickly on the first few charges but it now seems to run about as long as similar size drills.
