I've owned the Ridgid for about 3 years. Very satisfied. I was planning on selling it when I put in stationary 20" planer sometime ago but decided I didn't want to part with it so I mounted it on top of the 20" and still use it for smaller parts. It has features I find very useful that the stationary doesn't have, such as presets, depth of cut etc. Knife changes are a breeze. (I needed the 20" to speed up wide panel milling, not because I had any complaints with the Ridgid). Excellant machine.

I've had mine for a year & a half, & it has worked great the whole time. As stated above, knife changes are a breeze.....don
I have ANOTHER BIG BOX planner.. I am happy with it..
I also have 'Rigid table saw' and several other tools they have.. Hell, for the money as good as the other in the price range and maybe a 'bit' better?
I have had their 13" portable planer for about 4 months now and really like it. Its my first so I do not have much to compare it to but it gets the job done and has a lot of nice features. Plus the lifetime service agreement.
Blades are easy to change and it comes with an extra set and a place to store them on the machine - along with the tools needed to change them.
The lock for the cutter head to help prevent snipe and preset depth gage are nice.
I too have the Ridgid. I've put it through hell several times. No complaints. With the lifetime waranty I got on it when it does crap out I'll very happily accept my new one!

Were I you I'd get another Delta. The 22-580 is a beauty. Two speeds.. no snipe.. terrific value. I'd buy another one in a minute.
