   Wow no one on here has tried the upgrade? That's the first time I've ever had a post unanswered here.

   What kind of guides are one the saw now?  IMO, the "best" are "Cool Blocks" and they are direct replacements for standard, steel blocks.  They only cost $12-15 dollars last I looked.

   Roller guides actually provide less support to the blade as the point of contact is raised (or lowered on the lower guides).  They are also noisier and subject to damage if the blade mistracts.  At the same time a blade mistrack will cause the blade to be damaged.  Cool Blocks address each of these issues.

   Carter Micro Adjustable guides on the 14" Deluxe Rikon Bandsaw

   I just installed the Carter micro-adjuster guides on my 14" Deluxe Rikon Bandsaw.

   They are expensive, but in my opinon were worth the it. They  significantly speed up the adjustment process when changing blades. Also, they are well engineered/constructed and have improved the quality of my cuts.

   Did you have any issues with the bottom guide? I read somewhere that the carter bottom guide didn't fit right. I found that perplexing considering it's an upgrade. Why would they make a product that didn't work as an aftermarket upgrade?
