I purchased a used 14 inch OAV SW-1404 bandsaw, built in Taiwan in 1987. I had fun resawing some fruitwood, but would like to add some capacity – I’m thinking of adding a riser block, but don’t know if one manufactured for a different bandsaw would fit it. I did an internet search, yielding websites in New Zealand and Indonesia, as well as the OAV website. The OAV website does list a riser block kit, but my message to OAV was not answered. Is the OAV bandsaw equivalent to some other bandsaw brand name? Is there a source in the United States for OAV equipment?
Thanks in advance,
– Eddie

Can't give you any info on your particular bandsaw, but I do know that on my Delta, the riser block has register pins to index it to the top and bottom frames. I suspect most of them do something like that which would make fitting a non specific to your saw riser block problematic at best.

I feel kind of silly responding to my own post, but the resolution was that the JET riser kit (JRB-14) fits my OAV bandsaw just fine, alignment posts and all; I suspect my bandsaw may have come off the same assembly line....
