Hi all,
I saw the Sorby sharpening system on the website of The Best Things. The narative on the
thing sounded kind of intruiging, so I thought I’d see if anyone had anything to say about the
machine and , more especially, any experience with it as far how good/bad a job it does.

I've had the Sorby ProEdge system for a couple of years and it is excellent. As long as the abrasive belt is not too worn there is very little heating. Changing belts takes only a couple of minutes. There is a very effective indexing plate which allows you to tilt and lock the tool rest to any of the grinding angles in seconds. It isn't cheap but it is well built and is a major time-saver, especially if you use a lot of hand tools. Thoroughly recommended.
