just built this arts and crafts rocker last week. we have just noticed that it creeps sideways to the left while rocking a fair amount. before trying anything i thought i’d ask what is the best solution and what causes it. it seems to measure out very true so not sure what is causing this issue. thanks for any advise.

the side-walking rocker
Did you use crab glue? ;-)
Although I'm not a rocking-chair maker, my guess would be that one of the rockers is slightly canted (not parallel with the body of the chair). Or, the bottom of the rocker not being uniformly square along its length might cause that, too. The fix would depend on the cause.
