I’m not quite sure which folder this belongs in so I’m posting in General.
I’ve been interested in making “twig furniture” and have found and used an antique tenon maker, for a bit brace, with mixed results.
Rockler sells a Log Tenon Maker that uses a router and plastic jigs to make tenons in tree branches, and it is currently on a special close-out sale.
Has anyone had any experience with this tool, and if so is it any good, or is it on close-out because it’s a failure?
Thanks,
oldfred

oldfred,
It's unfortunate that there was no response to your question about Rockler's Tenon Maker. Perhaps more time in the discussion area will help.
Smokey1,
Thanks for the "bump".
I lost this thread and posted again in Power Tools and Machinery where I did get a couple replies.
After finding a video demo at the Rockler site I went out and bought the advertised package deal of the tenon maker and the PC 1-3/4 hp router. Needed the router and figured the tenon making kit would be worth trying.
Busted my allowance for a while.......
Thanks again

"twig furniture" .. Sort of like Twiggie from when I was younger.. SHe was HOT at the time but I married a woman that had some fat on her.. Nor ALOT of fat but she looked like a women!
Maybe "branch" or "trunk" furniture would be more appropriate for your needs? :)
Maybe "branch" or "trunk" furniture would be more appropriate for your needs? OK so she was not skinny.. But looked like a REAL woman...
I have a couple books about this type of furniture written by Daniel Mack. He calls it "rustic furniture", and I guess that's a better term. The stuff made from 1/2" - 3/4" stuff, might be called twig furniture.
I'm more interested in making pieces with heavier stock and incorporating mortice and tenon joints, hence the interest in the Rockler kit.
