Rockwell unisaw blade tilt mecjhanism won’t lock
I have a Rockwell 10″ Unisaw model 34-461, s/n H.18448. The blade tilt mechanism lock knob does not prevent the blade from moving its tilt position. I don’t have a manual or drawing of the mechanism. Can anyone tell me what the solution might be?

A new knob
This saw for some reason has an issue with the locking knob which when slightly worn ( the point on the end of the knob) seems to be the problem. The knob replacement is spendy. One option, which I have not tryed yet is to have the point returned on a lathe. I have this same saw, its about 25 years old. on my saw my issue is the up and down lift on the blade and not the tilt. Try and swap the locking knobs and tell me if that helps.
My old Rockwell saw doesn't actually lock, the locking knob presses tight against the hand wheel enough to keep it from moving but you can still turn it. Remove the lock knob, the hand wheel will slip off. There is a roll pin that the slot on the hand wheel slips over. The roll pin keeps a fiber and metal center washer on the shaft. This acts like a brake shoe. The area should be clean, no grease. The flat of the hand wheel center presses against the washer, so the mating surfaces should be clean and fit. The washer may need replacement.
