I am a beginning woodworker that is learning quickly and have a real passion for building my own furniture pieces. However, I am finding out very quickly how hard it is to find the thicker cuts of wood especially hardwoods? Any advise wuld be very helpful I don’t have anyone to ask!

It might also be helpful to know what you're thinking of making, dining table and chairs vs. bookshelves vs. cigar humidors, etc.
There are a number of reputable hardwood suppliers who have also gon online. If there are not any hardwood dealers in your area, try one of the online ones. And if you simply don't know where any of either type are, try liiking at the Woodfinder website.
