I just got this months National Geo and it has an interesting article on the supply of Rosewood from Madagascar. Pretty ugly tale of bribes, blind eyes, and stealing trees from the National Parks. Worth a good look for all of us, and the question of where does our material really come from….

We can always just go to Wallmart for some rosewood. Right?
When Rose wood harvested to just sprouts just go to Wallmart.
Apparently the poachers never saw the movie Silent Running.
Great great movie. Only problem, for me, it is too sad to watch again 'cause I know how it turns out.
Interestingly China is the biggest buyer of illegal Rosewood, and are the driving force behind it. I have not seen much Rosewood in Wallmart, but then again I can't think of the last time I stepped foot in Wally World for that matter.. Roc do you read National Geo, strikes me as something you would read.
I have not seen Silent Running, I will have to put on my net flix que.

Silent Running is Science fiction. Not for everyone.
Though I fear the wrong people see it. Preaching to the quire.
I figured China was so large in land mass they would have their own rosewood forests.
National Geo :
Great mag but in the past my time and money were focused else where. I have been looking at it recently for the iPad. Could be great fun for that. Not up to speed yet.
Sorry to disappoint. I tend to put my head into somewhere and root for a specific flavor while ignoring the veritable plethora around me.
