I assume this is Waterlox Gloss. I use rottenstone, lubricated with a bit of paraffin oil, as a polishing compound. When done, wipe away residue with naphtha. The only real caution is to be sure this isn't an open pored wood. Then the rottenstone, as any polishing compound, could lodge in the pores and be very difficult to remove. Some think of it as old fashioned and prefer to using polishing compounds. For some reason they say rottenstone is messier, but I don't see a heck of a lot of difference and do like the gloss you get from rottenstone.
One more thing. Give the Waterlox plenty of time to cure before rubbing out. A month would be good.
