Some time ago I saw an article in a magazine (can’t remember which or what issue) where someone had designed a jig / fixture to straddle the bed of a lathe. A router was attached, a follower was moved along the pattern and the router cut the pattern into the stock while the lathe spun.
I thought I had set the article asside for future use but, alas, nw that the future is here, I cannot find the darn thing!
Anyone remember that article?

Fine Woodworking has had a few articles that used that technique. You can find it using the online index on the FWW main site. I have used the technique with varying success on a couple of occassions, mostly when needing to turn long and smooth cylinders. I found it to give less than satisfactory results.

Thanks for the reply, I'll check that source.
