Does anyone know if the router base in the picture will accept a PC 690 motor.
I want an additional plunge base for my routers and would like to have the dust collection feature. I know when they came out Pc advertised that the 890 motors would transition into the 690 spiral down bases.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you know the model number of the base? That should allow you to see what router(s) it will handle.
Plunge Bases for 890's
Looks like the base in question is for a basic PC 890 motor - In this case, the 690 motor will not work in it - Atlease not without some major overhauling.
The 690 routers have pins to locate them. The 890 motors have a rack and pinion. The 890 plunge base utilizes that rack and pinion to secure the router.
Also, FYI, the 890 motors will only work in the 690 twist bases. They will not work on the plunge bases - There's a plastic panel on the 890 that would get crushed by the 690 plunge base's clamping mechanism.
Hope this helps,
Gregory
Thanks Greg for the good information. You are correct in you guess on the base. Sorry I didnt include the model number.
I have 5 Pc routers, one older style plunge base, and the 2.25 Hp dedicated plunger they no longer make that you recently helped me with some rewiring on to bypass the speed control.
I am currently working on a large custom reception desk, and thought I was well equipped. However I would like another plunge base for my 690's. Wasted time during setup is a real drag.
Thanks again.
