Somebody gave me one of these Craftsman Router Crafters. It is a crazy tool allows you to use a router along a shaft to create beads, flutes and such. My question is: Is this thing worth my time or should I just sell it? I have a lot of experience as a furniture builder and a machinist and I am just a little leery about this gizmo, it has a cheap feel to it. It also seems like a rather labor intensive process to use. I am hopeing somebody out there has some experience with one.

I had one back in the late 70's and made several (2 pc.) pool cues with it. It really did a respectable job of roping and flutes. Took a lot of pre-setup time to do a tapered item but actually turned out some good work. It ain't no Legacy Mill by any stretch of the imagination but then it didn't cost 5 grand either. It's worth playing with....

Hmmm...now you've got me thinking. I love breaking out a new tool and trying it out. I just don't have much time to do much playing. I am anxious to try some simple cuts with it and see how it performs.
