Good evening all, I am currently waiting for my Hitachi M12V plunge router to be shipped and plan on dedicating it to my router table. My question is which lift system to use? I am leaning toward the Woodpecker Plungelift system http://www.woodpeck.com/plungelift.html.
But, also realize that Router Raizer is an option or simply using the Hitachi Height Adjustment Knob>
The Router Raizer requires a mounting plate making it comparable to the Woodpecker version. The height adjustment knob approach offered by Hitachi is relatively cumbersome as it requires numerous turns to make large adjustments or to change the bit above the table.
Any advice or owners of any of the above sytems?? Thank you all in advance.

mlund12,
I have the Precision Router Lift (PRL) from Woodpecker, with a Porter+Cable 3.25HP router. I absolutely love this system. It provides easy and precise height adjustments, as well as above-the-table bit changes. Once you start using one of these, you will not be able to go back to the standard way of mounting a router in a table. This unit is solidly built out of heavy-duty parts, and it is easy to access the gears and chain for occasional lubrication.
When I was shopping for a lift, I compared a few different sysems, and in my opinion, the Precision Router Lift was the best. The Plungelift is the same basic design as the PRL, so I expect the above comments apply to it as well.
Let me know if you need more information. Always glad to help promote a good product!

I have the M12V and the woodpeck lift.
I chose it for couple reasons.
I didn't have to remove the plunge springs.
It has a 3/8 thick plate.
Oh! And the biggest reason. It matches the Incra fence. LOL.
I haven't used too much. I really like the setup. Several pals bought the same system, one witha Bosche and the other with the M12V. No complaints from anyone. We also have the Wonder fence + Ultra . http://www.woodpeck.com/wonderfenceultra.html
It's a great system. I'm really happy with it.
I have a TR12 as well and used the height adjustment knob in my old router table. It wasn't easy to adjust.
Enjoy!
I use a Woodpeckers' Unilift and the big Mak with soft start and speed control, fitted to a shop-built table attached to my Minimax slider. I have a rotating fence that adjusts in 1000s quick and easy. It's way cool. Quiet, smooth, precise, and friendly.
