Do you recommend using a router lift with the Triton Router installed in your router table? Is it necessary for easy height adjustment? If so, within the constraints of your position, can you provide any recommendations?

I'm not John, nor do I have a Triton router, but here are my thoughts on router lifts. For a number of years, I got along just fine with an onlder Rockwell 2 1/4hp router on just a plate. When adjustments were needed, I used two 1/4-20 bolts, with fender washers affixed to the heads, to lift the plate and router from the table (there were pre-tapped holes in the plate). It was actually easier for me to see that way. When I decided to get a (heavier) 3 1/4hp router (PC 7518 in my case), I added a lift, as well (BenchDog Pro lift, which is designed for the 7518, but has adapters for other routers). But, I'm an old guy with back problems. I'm happy. Your mileage and back aches may differ.
when i go to ww shows the sommerfield guys area always there demontrating their bits and they have a table and they love the tridon routers. Its a good set up. I have a pc7518 and homemade table with a woodpecker lift or i'd give them a thought.

The Triton routers are designed to be used in a router table, they have the lift mechanism built into them. They can't be disassembled so that the motor could be used in an aftermarket router lift.
Fine adjust not a lift.
John,
There have been a few unhappy Triton owners who bought the Triton thinking the fine adjustment was a lift. These disappointments were well aired on Knots.
Unless Triton change the design in the current models, the above table crank option is strictly for fine adjusting. The range of the fine adjustment is infinite, so it is possible to wind the router through the full height range. The gearing disengages when you use the primary rack & pinion height adjustment, so it is not intended for continuous use.

Triton Router
Does Triton still make the Triton TRC001? I checked their website but cannot find this model. Do they produce a replacement for this model?
TRB001 Replaces TRA001
The TRA001 was the first 2000watt Triton I believe. It was replaced by the TRB001. Before they reorganized, I had been told they were going to add the table top fine adjustment tot he 2000 watt model. The current literature doesn't say if this is now available.

Most of the lifts are designed to accept the motor barrel of the combination machines, not the big rectangular bodies of many of the larger plunge routers.
The best way use the Triton is to get close with the rack & pinion side winder, then fine adjust with the fine adjustment knob. Then lock the height.
Do not use the fine adjustment feature as a lift substitute - as per my note to John White.
