Thinking of upgrading my router table by adding a lift so I am not always adjusting from below.
Any suggestions on brand & model. I read a 2014 FWW article that recommends the Excalibur but cannot find it anywhere.

I think any of the major brands are fine. I went with Jessem & very happy with it except installing/removing inserts requires a tool that doesn’t work that well.
Had to do over I would go with Incra (identical lift) because of magnetic inserts.
May I suggest you look at the Incra lift. After years of struggling to adjuct the router from "below". I looked at several options and ultimately when with Incra. I have been well satisfied. I made my own "dust bucket" and chip dust removal is not a problem.
I bought the big Triton router and skipped the lift. The Triton is designed to be used upside-down in a table. It is adjustable from above and locks at the top for above the table bit changes. Dust collection is pretty good too.
The advantages of a lift far out way any Router mounted under a table in my opinion. While I own and am very happy with my Woodpecker and have come to really enjoy the quick adjust and thumbwheel fine adjustment the JessEm/Incra(JessEm makes the lift, Incra the mounting plate hence the magnets) lift is first rate as well and what I bought my son. Both brands will serve you well so it could be a case of availability and price making the decision for you. When it comes to fences, although I went with the Woodpecker and am happy with it, I will give a slight edge to JessEm mainly because they use less plastic and have some of the highest quality machining you find on tools today. JessEm manages to keep my hope alive that there are still quality tool makers out there who put quality first.
I'm fairly certain the General Excalibur lift is now the Sawstop lift. I have it and it works very well.
If you're converting a plunge router, take a peek at the Router Raizer, about 115.00. About as cheap as they come short of making it yourself, I think. utube has some very interesting builds.
Jessem/Incra
I have the Woodpecker lift and I think it works great. I was lucky and was able to score the metal rings at an auction so no plastic ones.
Thumbs up on the Jessem Master Lift II. I bought the version with the
slightly smaller plate which fits into my Bench Dog Pro Contractor table.
The lift is beautifully made and works very well.
matt101 is correct. I spoke with someone at SS, and he stated that General International/Excalibur router tables, lifts, floating over arm dust collection guard are all now rebranded in the US as SS. I own the SS free standing table with cast iron top and router lift. They are outstanding.
Plus 1 for MJ’s response IMO. The big Triton, I think it’s the TRA001, is my solution. Works like a charm n my money isn’t all tied up in a lift. It’s a great all around big juice router as well. I’ve had mine for several years, wouldn’t give it up. Regards.
