Router Tabe/Gift Wrap combo unit
Has anyone else found that a router table (or table saw table) is just the right height for wrapping presents?? “Gift Wrap Central” is winding down as we type, and all gifts will have microscopic reminders of where they were wrapped, LOL!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Xmas Jamie...
The work-bench got the call on "where" for me... duct tape got the call on "how" sealing the wrap and also for the "bow". My trademark as you don't have to ask who that's from. It telegraphs the sender as "Sarge"!

Highest regards for you and yours...
Sarge..
thats wimmins work :>)
I cleaned off my workbench. It didn't take me long to knock a package of bows and ribbons into the saw dust on the floor, forget about that mylar wrapping paper! This is the first year I used scissors instead of a utility knife, even though they wouldn't slide, due to all the sandpaper I cut with them. Next year I'm getting one of those wrist dispensers for the Scotch tape, maybe one of those sliding paper cutters too. Sometimes my head gets swollen, thinking I'm a capable craftsman. Package wrapping always takes me down a few notches, to rank amateur. Maybe I should stick to those nice bags with a little tissue paper on top.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
"...forget about that mylar wrapping paper!" No kidding! Too funny. Then again, you could let it drop into a big pile of sawdust, get it coated in a nice, abstract design and then spray it with 3M adhesive. Voila! custom wrapping paper!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
3M adhesive, that's brilliant, forestgirl. I'll just spray down the box, apply the wrapping paper and use my flush trim bit in the router. I knew there had to be a way to wrap that I could understand.Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
WOW ! You just gave me an idea for those unwrapable items. Cover the item with tissue paper then slobber on paper machete ;-) The opening would be a riot.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

You and Hammer and I are on our way to a gift wrapping revolution!!!! By next year, we'll have our own web site, eh? Great ideas guys.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Having a little bit of a pratical joker streak, I think it would be a gut buster watching the Grandchildren open up the paper machet. I'am writing down the idea and pinning it up in one of my shop cabinets for next year, can't let that one slip away.;-)Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

J, work bench is good but no help trying to tie two strands of curling ribbon across and then along an oval shaker box, it will not stay in place. After several tries I finally tied a knot in the middle of a 3' group of four strands, put the box on the knot and made two passes around the short way, knoted it down tight , tied a large loop bow tight then slit all the loops with a straight blade marking knife, then pulled the strands acutely across the marking knife twice getting the nicest curls -lots of them red, green, silver, and gold.It looked real purty. I had more work to wrap the danm things than bending them hot and wet. BAH HUMBUG. Merry Christmas-----Paddy da ????WRAPPER?
My wrapping consisted of tossing gifts in a cardboard box and throwing a band of packing tape over it. That's what you get from a shipper/receiver! I did draw some nice pictures on the box though.Chris @ flairwoodworks
"It looked real purty." I'll bet!!! Given the challenge of that task, methinks you could be rewarded handomely should you submit it to one of the magazines! Merry Christmas (belated) Paddy, and Happy New Year!!!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
