Because...
Because I still work for Fine Woodworking, I have to avoid problems with appearing to favor one maker over the other, so I can't make a recommendation.
Better router tables?
Some build their own, to suit what they need in a table. Most places sell a table of sorts that they like. Hartvilletool.com has one. Myself, I needed one about twenty years ago, so some plywood was screwed together to make a table of sorts. I wanted one that also matched my tablesaw's height, to use as an out feed table. I think I have a picture or two around somewhere. PS: the table is still in use.
Router tables are largely a choice between building your own, or buying a commercially-made model. Either way, the choice needs to be based on the design and materials strength requirements dictated by the size/weight of the router and any added weight of a lift. Put a big, heavy router and a lift in a wimpy table, and it will eventually sag, making it useless and potentially dangerous. The choices among tables tend to get segregated by the choice of individual components. For example, since you chose a Jessem lift, you'll either need to find a table into which the lift will fit, or modify some other brand to fit the lift. With that in mind, you might not want to buy the cast-iron Benchdog table. ;-)
Router table
I have a home-made table-top support. Actually it is part of the out-feed support for my Unisaw.
The actual router table top I bought from Woodpeckers. I purchased their PRL router lift in 2002. It recently jammed. I called them and they said, send it in. EIGHT years old.
Woodpeckers is a good outfit.
