Just took delivery on a Triton 2-1/4 HP router for my router table. The owners manual shows a 1-1/2″ short hose accessory for dust collection. I have contacted the distributor and was told that this item is not availible in the US. I want to go from the router dust port to my sears shop vac which is 2-1/2 ” Any suggestions ? ? ?

I have the same router and was told the same story. My solution wasn't fancy and has its problems, hopefully someone else has a more elegant fix.
I used a reducer (similar to the one below but with stepped shoulders, not tapered). I cut it off until the fitting diameter was close to that of the port. They're flexible rubber so the weird threads on the router dust collection port have a (small) degree of bite. It tends to fall off pretty easily despite attempts to wedge it in place better. Passable solution when mouted in the router table but useless for free hand work. I look forward to hearing a better fix.

I use a standard vacuum cleaner hose with the nozzle cut off. The spirals on the hose screw into the grooves on the router's inlet. I'm not sure if all hoses would do that or if I just got lucky. I bought a secondhand hose from a Vac. repair shop -- new ones are pricey. At the other end the hose slips over a standard reducer.

Chet,
Sorry for the delay in posting. I got a length of hose from my Triton rep 2 years ago. I contacted the company and they say it is a standard hose.
I will try and get the piece I have identified and will share with you.
Triton are now being distributed by HTC Products.
