I'm not getting a good mental image of what you are trying to ask.
I would like to use a miter gauge at times, so the dado to be cut sould be what distance from the router bit center for bust results

Just far enough for your miter (when set at 90 degrees) to clear you widest bit. Mine is at 5 inches (center to center).

As you face the router (fence will be perpendicular to your line of sight), place the hole dead center from left to right and 2/3 of the distance to the rear edge of the table.
