I AM PLANNING TO BUY A ROUTER SOON. I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE ONE THAT WORKS WELL ON A TABLE AS WELL AS FREEHAND. BUT I WOULD ALSO WANT ONE THAT CAN HANDLE RAISED PANEL BITS, TOUNGE AND GROOVE BITS, FOR MAKING RAISED PANEL DOORS. WHAT WOULD BE THE ROUTER OF CHOICE THAT IS BETWEEN $100.00 TO $200.00. RESPONSES APPRECIATED. THANKS

Try looking at Bocsh, 1613EVS plunge router, nice machine.
What ever unit you get make it a plunge router.
Good luck.
have seven routers in my cabinet shop, everthing from little laminate trimmers to a 3 hp hitachi
other than its rather intimidating size and power, the hitachi is my favourite
second is the porter cable 690 series, think ive got three
caulking is not a piece of trim
Ditto on Bosch! I now have three 1617EVS units -- one dedicated to my router table. I've used it for raised panels and had no problem with it. Consider the kit with the fixed and plunge bases for flexibility. Amazon.com has the kit for $230, minus $25 for orders over $199, free shipping and (probably) no sales tax -- total comes out to $205. I like the soft start on these machines and they are much quieter than PC's I've used at the shop where I work.
