I’ve seen some discussion here on keeping table saws rust free, but what about the blades? I recently found that I was getting rust on a set of dado blades that I hadn’t used in a while. Can I treat them in the same way as I am treating my saw’s top (talcum powder)?

Be careful with the Talc. In some instances it will absorb and retain moisture on your equipment surfaces doing more damage than good. A good coating of furniture paste wax should do the trick for you. Remove any current oxidation or rust with some steel wool, careful not to damage your cutter tips and give a good coating of paste wax.
Good Luck

I live in a part of the country that has low humidity year round, so rust is not a problem for me. However, I figure an ounce of prevention, etc., so whenever I get a package or whatever that has those little moisture absorbing packets, I toss them in my tool drawers.
