Can anyone point me to on-line photos of rustic furniture?
I spent a couple of hours last weekend cruising the shores of my local hydro lake and came home with a boot full of 4 inch diameter willow ‘loglets’ to use as the legs of an office desk. I’ve got a few ideas about how to put it all together, but would like to take a look at what other people have done – if there’s anything to see!

All my projects turn out rustic . . . .try some of these links:

I also remember an article and frequent ads in FWW for a tool that helps carve the round tennons. Maybe someone else can recall the mfg.
Thanks
Lee Valley (among others) sell the tools for making round tenons ... your links were useful. I also did a Google search and found a few others.
I'm aiming for an up-market look - may have to devise a way to round the almost-round willow branchwood so that the finished desk (which is for my office and will incorporate a small flat-panel TV and radio-tape-CD player at eye level) doesn't look too 'rustic'! I don't turn, so can't set the legs up between centres and round them that way. I'm sketching a jig that will allow me to use a router ...
Why not use proper milled timber?
I just fancy the look of the silver-grey weathered willow drift-wood. It's from my neighbourhood lake. If it comes off, the desk will be a stunner. If not ...
Firewood!
Daniel Mack is tops for this type of furniture and he has some very informative books.
Thanks

He's the business all right! Thanks - that's the connection I was after. Knots comes thru again. I'm about to email the man.
