I have recently moved to the very wet climate of Maryland. Even worse, my shop has moved from a beautiful & dry warehouse space to the garage. One consequence is the steel on my vises is beginning to rust! Any suggestions for cleaning the rust off and keeping it off would be welcome.
Secondly, the moisture content of my wood is creeping up. Any suggestions for storing the accumulation of many years would be helpful also.
Thirdly, any suggestions for turning a garage into a shop that is useful through winter and hot humid summers would really be appreciated! What is an appropriate heat source? AC? Etc. Thanks.

The wood won't be harmed by absorbing moisture from the air, it is just getting in balance with the new environment.
