I’m looking for planer blades for my Ryobi AP 12 planer. After looking around on the net it appears they are difficult to come by. Ryobi doesn’t appear to support the AP 12 anymore. Must be planned obsolescence. I hate getting rid of a perfectly good tool just because I can’t get parts!! Generally, woodworkers don’t just throw tools out. I’m venting now. If someone has info please let me know.
Thanks
Ron

A Google search on 'ryobi ap12' shows that amazon.com sells the knives.

Ron, welcome to the skewered by Ryobi club. I had picked up their little trim router and then found out that NONE of the base accessories were any longer available. This model is the same item sold in a different color by Sears "another 'premier' tool merchant" so I checked their parts thieves and found that the Mfg no longer supported the accessories.
I learned my lesson and it only cost me $76. I consider it a cheap lesson. You could poke me in the eye with a sharp stick and I will still not buy tools from Home Despot or Sears, it isn't worth the agravation for minimalist tools. It is definitely not about the money. It's about supporting the customer. Good luck, Pat
ps. Unless you have a screaming, drop dead good deal on a regular line item premium tool, you are better off at a tool dealer used by the trades who will always be there for you when you need him. pfh
I believe that the Delta 22-562 12-1/2" knives for the 22-560 Planer will work. You might check them against your existing knives to be sure.
I bought a used AP12 awhile back, and needed blades.I checked with Ryobi, and thought Ryobi's price was outrageous.Their website proved difficult to use also.
What I ended up doing was buying a set of Ryobi blades off eBay. I think I paid about $35.00,which was still high, but a LOT less than Ryobi.I also went to Sears and looked for a set of blades, since they used to sell a planer much like the AP12. I didn't find an exact match, but I did find that the #9_29459 blades had the same width and hole spacing. They were 13 inch blades, but I can grind them to the length of the original Ryobi ones.I think they were about $30.00.
Hope this helps.
