Sam Maloof Hal Taylor Hybrid Rocking Chair
Over the years I have copied both Sam Maloof and Hal Taylor’s style rocking chairs. In this one, I combine aspects of both.

Beautiful Work!
I've had the pleasure (and Pain) of building 8 of Hal's rockers... all well-below the standard here, but still the best that I could do. I credit Hal with making the build accessible to individuals like me; though, I still marvel at work like this.
Thanks for you comment. I understand you pain and pleasure. I limited myself to one a year over a twelve year span. Here's an photo of Maloof, Taylor (large and small) as well as the hybrid.
Fred... a question.
When I was active in Hal’s forum, I put together a spreadsheet of all of the pdf and dvd specifications - small-to-large. Lacking were the ‘child’ specs - these were not in the source materials. Do you have these?
I have been offered a commission for a child rocker, that I’m tempted to accept.
Thanks for the consideration.
I don't have them. When I made child rockers, I used Hal's recommendation of 60% of full size. That of course, is based on his fs templates. My daughter's son has one of the child rockers. Although she doesn't live nearby, I can ask her for measurements if you give me a list. BTW is it possible to connect via email or text?
Fred:
I'd be honored to correspond on woodworking topics...
'[email protected]' is the best place to contact me... via e-mail. For several years I was active on lumberjocks ('MJCD') - the posting are still there; though, I rarely comment on the forums, and I post original pieces, only; that is, the first iteration of a piece.
Regarding the child rocker... thanks for the 60% guidance - this should be close enough to build a test piece. It's been several years since I've built one, and I need to regain the experience that I once had.
I look forward to hearing from you.
You Take Care.

Ahhh, the Maloof Rocking Chair. I have cherry sitting in my shop for several years now waiting for another go at one. I don't know if my liver could survive sculpting the back slats. Good isolation project.
This thread is almost a year old, but I will ask anyway. I am looking for any plans or measurements anyone may have for a Hal Taylor child's rocker.
Thanks in advance.

Hal will sell you the Plans and his "Harry Potter Book" with video links. His dedicated Forum is very impressive.
Personally, there is a lot more than craftmanship to be learned from Hal

Your rocker is gorgeous. Excellent work. Thank you for posting the picture.
Thanks Martin. Appreciate your comments.

Dan, Here are my measurements: text below in addition to a jpg attached.
Arm (front to back and widest point): 14 x 4"
Front Leg length (from bottom of arm to where it joins the small lams at the front of the rocker): 16.25"
The back leg length from top to rocker lams: 8.5"
The length of the back braces (from the bottom of head rest to top on seat - not including unseen tenons): 22"
I hope this is what you are looking for.

Thanks for your help, it got me started. Here is my prototype child's rocker.
