Most has been said about all sorts of power tools, little about sanding. What ist about disk sanders? What about belt-, edge sanders? How is the difference in the application, what is a good make? Combination tools are advisable?
We are not talking about large work pieces, but medium to small. What do you think?

Qara,
I've got a few sanders but for medium and small pieces I find it much faster to do it by hand. It's faster because I can have four or so blocks with different grits. I made some sanding blocks with cork bottoms, they work exceptionally well. I tried some sanding blocks with cut-up mouse pad bottoms..not as good.
