Hi all
Can anybody tell me I have sanded a piece of mahagony to 320 grit then grain filled with a silica crystalline grainfiller.I rubbed most of it off with burlap,I then sanded again with 320 all I was sanding was the grain filler should I use a coarser grade to get pass the grainfiller .Although you can not see it on the surface and the finish has gone on ok should I keep sanding until I am actually sanding the timber.

I would say you definitely want to get it all off the surface. I wouldn't go back to a coarser grit. From my experience, the 320 won't take that long if you gave it a good scrub with the burlap. I might try a scraper, wielded lightly, if I thought the fine sandpaper was taking too long.
