We have just stripped paint from very old window frames made of pine.
After sanding, we were surprised to see that some sap was still coming out from the wood.
Any suggestions as to how we could stop sap from coming out?

Must have been air-dried material; kiln drying will generally 'fix' the sap so it no longer runs out. Short of heating it in a kiln one idea is to use a shellac based primer. This will block resin knot print through but I'll bet the sap will continue to run.
