Saw Blades for DeWalt 12″ Compd Miter Sw
I’ve got a DeWalt 12″ Compound Sliding Miter saw that I absolutely love. I’ve been using the blade which came with it and it seems ready for resharpening at this point. I was wondering what type blades others have put on that saw and how they have performed.

really like the forrest blade
Used a freud 80tooth for cutting melamine board. Good cut on top but still a slight chipping out the bottom. Oh well, the nature of the beast. Even happened with a 100tooth blade.
My Makita (#LS1212) 12" CSMS came with a 180T thin-kerf blade I didn't much care for. I put a 200T FS Tools blade on it and haven't looked back. It'll put perfect, glass smooth pyramid ends on white oak that couldn't possibly be improved by sanding or scraping. It crosscuts 8-10" 8/4 white oak better (cleaner, no burning, & no bucking) than my buddy's Shopsmith RAS.

John, what brand of blade did you buy. Was it Makita? I have the Big Bosch 12" and have been running the stock blade on it. It cuts fairly smooth but I'm looking to change it to something finer.Steve - in Northern California
FS Tool. They don't market to the hobbist sector or in mags that I've seen. Check your area industrial woodworking suppliers or maybe with your sharpening shop. They are really good blades, even down to the copper plugs in the relief holes so they don't whistle. I get mine at California Woodworking Machinery in Anaheim, CA.
My sharpening guy recommends FS and Systimatic. Like a big #### I bent my FS 10" combo blade on my TS (cranked in a bevel with a 1/2" thick PVC zero clearance insert - by the time I figured out why it was binding it was too late.) My saw guy stocked the Systimatic so I took it. I miss the FS, thought it cut smoother.
