What the #@$%^&*#@ is a saw jaw? What is it used for? Why do you need it?

It's an inexpensive plastic thing, looks like a big ping-pong paddle. It clamps around your saw blade so you can remove it and install it without the teeth poking you in the forearm.
The company would like to sell you one for each of your blades, but that's no kind of necessity. I just have the one.
At $12 it's not a bad product. Unless, of course, you can't use it on your saw. It works fine on my Unisaw...
i can use it on my freud blade, but not with a forrest blade. i know the forrest is a larger circumrence, but i was looking for someone that may have a tip on using it with a pm 66 saw.
to the previous post, it is a plastic tool thats aides in changing blades. i often change blades to dado or to a ripping blade, whatever, but it holds the blade while i loosen the arbor nut and then porvides a handle and protective storage for the blade while not in use. i bought a couple because i was tired of trying to hold the blade from moving while changing and getting my hands nicked. the pm 66 does not have a arbor lock either.
works for me!
You use it instead of the arbor wrench? Wow, I never even considered that. Not sure I really want to do that... if I have to crank hard on the arbor nut, I'd hate to put undue strain on those carbide teeth. Then again, I regularly push them into wood at 100 mph. :)
I just use it to slip the blade onto the arbor, and to lift it back off.
i hold the blade from spining with the saw jaw, then i loosen the arbor nut with a wrench. isnt this right?

Probably, I don't know. I loosen the nut without using the saw jaw, I only put it on once I've started the arbor nut turning. To each his own. :)
