I’ve read the review and watched the video of the new Saw Stop Contractor’s saw–nice job with both, BTW. I’m wondering if you’ve heard whether the price of the saws, contractor or cabinet, will be coming down, or is it a WYSIWYG? Also do you know if they are planning to release a ‘hybrid’ saw with the saw stop technology? Given how long it has taken them to get these two saws on the market, I’m wondering if that is feasible. Thanks. Tom

Thanks for the compliment, but the quality of the finished product is due more to the people behind the camera and the editors than my talent.
I haven't been in touch with SawStop to ask, but I doubt if the price will be coming down. The prices for steel, copper, and fuel are still climbing and the purchasing power of the dollar is slipping so anybody importing machinery is facing higher costs daily, they are probably just hoping to hold their prices where they are now.
I was really expecting the SawStop contractor's saw to be basically a hybrid on an open base, with the motor underneath, but as you can see, it isn't. If they are coming out with a hybrid style machine they are going to be starting all over again, they design of the contractor's saw can't be reworked into a hybrid. I heard that they are working on a hybrid saw, but I haven't heard anything about a release date, and I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.
