   With text like "...this saw is simply the finest piece of woodworking machinery that I've ever laid my hands on" you get the idea that Matt thinks pretty highly of the saw.  Check out the rest of his site too.  He's not prone to hyperbole, and his work looks pretty high quality.

   My piece is pretty long winded; I tried to pick up on a lot of questions that people seem to have about the saw, and included a good number of internal pictures.  I've been using the saw for a couple months now.  It really is a pleasure to work with, beautifully engineered and well built.  The only serious downsides are the price, waiting list (some people will not consider a saw that they can't have now), and fact that SawStop hasn't been in business for 20 years.

   I can take a shot at answering any questions that aren't addressed by those reviews.  FWIW, I am not affiliated with SawStop.  I paid my own money for the saw just like the 200+ other people who own them.  There should be 1000 of them around by the end of the year.  The FWW review was a bust - all they reported on was the blade brake, which was too bad since I doubt that anyone would buy the saw just because it has a blade brake.  I hear that Wood and AW are doing reviews too; maybe they will be more thorough.
