I am building my shop and remember seeing a setup for mitre saw, radial and thickness planer built into a bench along the wall. What is the best layout, and are there plans available.

Hi Jack,
We have published several articles about shop design over the years, each featuring some unique and innovative set ups. Unfortunately, the one you described doesn't ring a bell. Some that do include the Island Workshop where the author integrated his machinery, worksurfaces and infeed-outfeed support into a single unit. There was also the Roll Away Workshop, in which the author stored all his machines in rolling cabinets that fit along a workbench against one wall.
