Im looking at getting a sawstop, seems like a great tool especailly with the added safty feature. But im wondering how they work with a dado blade set? As well as any other feedback on this would be great.

I have a 3hp professional sawstop and i'm happy with it. They have the best costumer service I have ever seen. Any question just call, they help. My saw had a problem: occasionally it stopped for no reasons. I called the service department and they said there was a problem with a contact in other saws. Thus they send a replacement part with overnight delivery. They were at the telephone to help for replacing the part but there was no reason. It was easy. For the dado there is no problem just change the brake cartridge. I hope this will help.

same prinicple
Same principle just wider brake. 8" blade max per their specs. I'd love to have one. Let us know how you like it.

You can do a dado up to 13/16"
Me I do dado's with a router anyway, but there's your specks.
I have an ICS Sawstop....
and my only beef with it is the pain in changing from a normal blade to dado...not only does it require changing the cartridge, but also adjusting the distance from the blade to the cartridge to make sure the safety feature works. It becomes tedious if one wants to go back and forth from dadoing to crosscutting/ripping.
I am actually thinking of finding a second SS and have one as a rip/crosscut machine and the other as a dedicated dado machine.
