Hi, It would appear that the arbor of my sliding compound mitre saw is slightly out of true. Anyone know a fix? Thanks.

How bad is it? Do you have a dial gauge to measure it accurately?
The simple fix is to order a new arbor and replace it. Unless it is a direct drive motor it is easy to replace.

You don't by any chance have a Bosch 3918? These arbors a have a large bearing up at the blade end but at the other, it is a very small cup style roller bearing. This is usually the one that fails. You have to pull the motor from the blade end back, to get to the bearing at the end of the housing. In essence you have to take the whole thing apart to get to this last bearing. Pulling and pressing in a new bearing requires a special puller and a stepped drift, sized to fit. If the bearing has seized and heated up, it may have ruined the housing or the end of the shaft. Very poor, light weight design. One size up and they could have used a nicer sealed unit. I thought about boring for the larger size but I didn't. Pretty soon I'll have to buy, yet another, slider.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
