I am not an expert, but here is my 2 cents worth:
1. Blade installed with the teeth facing the wrong direction.
2. Tension on the blade is too tight.
3. The blade is not square to the table. It will bind when trying to cut on a tight turn.
4. Check the blade speed for the thickness of the material you are cutting. Try running the saw at a slower speed.
5. Using a wide blade to make tight turns. Using a thinner (narrower) blade.
I have found that I have better blade life using coping saw blades rather than scroll saw blades
thanks lefty i.m using the best blades on the market. but i gues i just have to learn.i tried div, blades too.ill check what u said to do tomorrow.
You might try a slower feed rate, check to see that your blower is pointed at the blade so the dust clears out of the gullets.
That said, my old 24 inch Delta breaks a good number due to operator error.
If your saw didn't come with a blower, get an aquarium pump and some plastic tubing, rig it so the tube end is fairly close and about a half inch above the work surface.
Good luck,
thanks leon i do have a blower on it i try going slower speed and it helps ty
Well you should return the operator and get a new one :-)The only time I've broken blades is when I over-tensioned them (trying to deal with drift).M.
Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an ax.
