scroll saw information-buy quality blade
i just want to make a comment that may be beneficial to someone on this site. i went to a woodshow yesterday and purchased a hawk g4 scroll saw. i presently have a dewalt scroll saw which has never worked properly. So, i decided to upgrade and placed an order for the Hawk. the rep told me to be sure i purchased good quality blades. On the way out i purchased some high quality blades. When i got home i decided to try one in my Dewalt. I couldn’t belive the difference. The cut was fantastic. Smooth, fast and accurate. To make a long story short, i cancelled the order for the hawk and ended up saving 1400 dollars by spending seven dollars for high quality blades. Moral of the story: Never by cheap blades. You will get exactly what you pay for.

Who makes the blades that you purchased. I have an old rockwell scroll purchased fron a high school auction. I have never used much, but would like to use more. Thanks

they are made by ps blades. if you like i can go out to my shop later on and send you their address or email address. i just can't tell you what a difference they made. i purchased a number 5 blade. they go down to 2 and up to 8 i believe, but they recommended the five. i was amazed at the quality of the cut and how smooth the finish was. do you want their addresses? jt

Well even if rpholland doesn't want it- I sure do (and I am sure that others on Knots would as well)!
Great to hear that there are such things as premium scroll saw blades out there. I have the DeWalt and have never been blown away by any of the cuts that I have made with it (though they have certainly been all that they have needed to be ... but tooth marks on the side of the cuts, etc.).
Thanks.
