Hi Folks,
Does anyone have any info on a scrubbed oak finish? Is it the same as a limed, or pickled finish?
thanks, jeff

scrubbed oak finish..
Not sure.. I think may be 'scrubbed' with a brass or steel brush to enhance the grain..
Not sure...
I think the "scrubbed oak" finish is what the poster said--limed. Brush on some paint and wipe it off--it sticks in the grain a bit more.Gretchen
I know scrubbed as a wire brushed wood with the softer grain removed by the scrubbing. This is a large machine by the way, dont try it at home. Then a white wash or glaze followed by some sort of protective clear topcoat. It a distressed finished looking like aged or weathered wood. Aloha, Mike
wed did a whole bedroom and walk-in in the same style, I think. we finished ours with nitro over sealer but we got the texture with some modest sandblasting. it was winter so we did quite a bit of it inside-BIG Mistake. black beauty is still fouling our tools to this day... stick to the brush and elbow grease...
