I usually start with 2 coats of Sealcoat before topping with poly. I’ve always scuff-sanded the shellac before adding the poly. Do any of you skip the scuff and go straight to finish coat?

The issue for me is "Nibs" that seem to always show up and get amplified when applying the final finish. Light scuffing and tacking seems to work. The leveling from scuffing helps to improve the end result.
Good luck
Seems like every time I skip the basics something goes wrong.
