I’m useing ink for lettering on wood veneer, but the ink bleeds past the masking tape. It follows the grain of the wood and makes a mess. Is there any thing that I can do to prevent this from happening? I would like to kept the wood veneer as pliable as possible.
Thank You

Dick,
I think the answer lies in the discussion title you chose. What exactly you are trying to achieve and the type of ink you are using would be helpful to know. As an example; back in the days before vinyl lettering boat finishers would hand letter boat names on the transom after about the 4th coat of varnish and then apply the remaining coats over the letters.
There are numerous ways that you can seal, shellac, varnish, lacquer, sanding sealer, etc.

*If you are finishing the wood, I would suggest applying the letters in a compatible produst between coats.
