Searching Magazine Archive DVD 1975-2010
I recently received the Fine Woodworking archieve and loaded it on my computer, however: I find it darn near impossible to locate specific articles. I’ve contacted customer service and followed their advice and steps but still find it extremely frustrating. Anyone else use the archives and feel the same as I do or have some techniques/secrets that would make it worth the effort?
Appreciate any feedback,

John, you're not the only one who has found the search feature on the archive DVD to be somewhat lacking. I've searched for article titles, authors, keywords... all that I know exist, and the search comes up blank. I'd say maybe one in five searches I've done comes up with a false negative. I've had better luck finding FWW articles using Google.
I love having FWW on DVD. One of the best features is to be able to search the entire library quickly--if only it would work.
Thanks, good to know I'm not alone! I've noticed that FWW has been advertising it at a discount of $50.00 or so, wonder if that's because of slow sales? Like you it's very frustrating to use so I find I go to the library or find what I need with the search features of their on line membership. That's only $35.00 a year but much easier to find what I'm after.
