Question… is this upcoming show the same one that has all the “larger” vendors, or is it just the little one that you can blow through in an hour or so? I’ve been to a few and I can’t remmber which one is which. Anybody know?
I received a email today about a CNC company showing and this is leading me to believe it’s the larger version.
If it is, then I want to come up on Friday, so as to leave more time for Saturday’s “main event”
How about a “wood identification challenge”? Everybody bring a piece of something and see who can identify the most. I’ll bring my sample boxes of woods that I picked up 20+years ago, just for fun.

Hey Migrane,
The Tacoma Show is pretty big, it fills the Tacoma Dome stadium (a wooden dome for those unfamiliar with it). The show continues on Sunday as well. I figure that's when I'll have time to go.
The wood id challange sounds like a great idea. Most of the wood in my shop is pretty recognizable, but I'll have a few samples.

Wood ID challenge sounds great! I actually have a small piece of exotic I'd like someone out there to ID. I was told once what it is and forgot.
The Tacoma show should be a full-fledged show. It has taken on the role of serving as the only show in the Seattle-Tacoma area -- Seattle used to have its very own.
There's a slim chance that I might go on Friday. But, since I'm buying a dust collector on Saturday :-) it's indeed a slim chance.

I think that I'm going to go to the show on Fri. That will give me a chance to pick up some materials from places that aren't open on the weekend. I need some more white oak and alder, along with other sheet goods, like alder plywood and melamine(yuck)
Next week is going to real busy. The drywallers are almost done with taping and texturing. I have to paint and carpet goes in the following Tues.
If I end up going, do you want to try and meet somewhere? Or will you be too busy spending $$, LOL? If not, I'll see you Saturday! Jamie -I plan on making it to the WW show on Friday. But I also plan on stopping by Jack Davis' shop, the metal spinner guy, before hand so don't know when I'll be getting to the show. Perhaps we'll just bump into one another - the Tacoma Dome ain't that big (grin). I don't know the geography of the place well enough to suggest a meeting point. I do know a pretty good brewpub down near the Museum of Glass, though............

I'll let you know if I'm going, but it's looking pretty slim. Monica may not be able to cover the store if I go, which means I'd be stuck here. forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
