I am at a loss as to the formula to use when creating a segmented bowl with compound bevels. I am able to to do it by trial and error but that requires too many test cuts to arrive at a desired pitch or rise angle. Can someone help.

Hey B&B,
Sorry for the delay. I was hoping to come across someone who has done what your attempting but no luck. I've done segmented turnings before, but never attempted to make the segments compound. My brain hurts just thinking about it.
Check out our gallery of turned objects. A fellow named Ed Zbik has a piece that show some very intricate segments that appear to be compound. By the looks of it, I would imagine he laminates long strips of different species woods, then cuts those laminated pieces into segments. But I'm not positive. If you don't mind, give us some time to look into this and we'll get back to you.
