We recently acquired a hoosier sellers kitchen cabinet. it has a rolltop. unfortunately the rolltop came out of its tracks and came out. we are trying to get it back into the track but can;t seem to figure it out. We thought taking it off the porcelin top and sliding in from the bottom might work, unfortunately it has a bottom that does not come off. the back is nailed on and really not too sure about removing the back, is there any easy way to reinstall the rolltop without taking the whole hutch apart? thank you for any info.

Try this...
Hoosiers were made on production lines with no though given to taking them apart later, so there may be no provision for disassembling the cabinet short of separating glued and nailed joints.
One thing you can try is to wedge the two sides apart at the middle of the curved edges, pushing the sides apart just enough to feed in the roll. Cut a stick as long as the width of the roll top and put it in diagonally across the open front and then gently tap it into place horizontally.
thank you, I will try that without breaking anything. It has the swing away sugar container assembly in there also which is also in the way. Sre came out easy, wish it was as easy to get back in. Really did not want to take the nails out of the back and mess something else up. I will let you know how I make out and thanks again for the prompt reply. If you think of any other suggestions let me know.

its fixed
the louvered door is back in. actually we tried the prying method and couldn;t get it in, so we had someone come out from an antique store and he took off the header and then spread it apart alittle and it went right in so looks great. thanks for the input it really did help, because we were all set to take the back off, that would not have been good. thanks again
