Hi everyone,
This is my first time in the forum but I feel my best bet for help with getting a furniture design into the public.
I’ve read a similar post string which was insighful but my situation is a bit different and hopefully someone can help me with ideas.
I am a working artist and hobbyist woodworker. I have a design for a piece of furniture that I know retailers will be interested in but I don’t know who to contact or how to approach a major retailer.
Has anyone done this before? What were your first steps??
Thanks for your help.

Good luck on your plans! Found this article online and I thought this can help: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/83776
ask your friends if they know somebody who might be interested, or search on the net and email the retailers. always stay optimisitic even if you'll get series of rejections at first. keep doing what you love to do and eventually you'll get the approval of some big retailers. Goodluck!
Great support
Thanks for the support. I hope to remember not to take in rejection and to keep going for it.
may i ask you if what kind of furnitures you are designing? maybe i can refer you to some friends who are interested in the field.
I have designed modern art seating that looks sculptural. It can be just hard architecture or with an upholstered seat.
Good link!
Thanks for the link; it's a good place to start the thought process. Now if I can just get around the manufacturing....
