I am making a tall case clock out of cherry. Hood door will have an arched glass insert. Any suggestions on the best method for setting the glass into the rabbetted door? Thanks.

Use a small bead of silicone in the rabbett or make a rubber gasket and set in the glass. Pin the trim in place and you're done.
Also, it'd be easier to cut squared glass than a curved piece to match the hood or bonnet area.
Thanks.

Nick,
If you dont wan't to make a wood glass bead then use a few dabs of silicone to seat the glass and keep it from rattling. You can then use glazing compound to keep the glass in place. If you need to tint the compound universal tinting colorants work well, I use Tints all. If the glazing is too thin then add some whiting until it gets to a consistency you like working with.

Thanks J.P.
Nick,
What jp said, but I like a product by DAP, called painter's putty. It eventually gets hard, instead of staying soft like regular glazing compound.

Ray
