When I log in to Knots, I am presented with the same start up post[Assemble or finish first? #5957.1] that has been there since May.I assume this is the case with the rest of you. While it poses a very good question, of interest to all who work in wood, and much good advise is rendered in answering posts,I wonder if it is not time to move on and consign #5957.1 to the archives and give some more recent poster post it’s day in the sun? I’ve kind of waited for someone else to bring this up but, I haven’t noticed anyone doing so. Could this be some strange prospero glitch that only occurs on my account? I would like to hear from anyone else who has thoughts on this matter.

I'm guessing that you have Knots bookmarked in your browser and that the URL in the bookmark is something like http://forums.taunton.com/tp-knots/messages/?msg=5957.1 If this is the case, change the URL to http://forums.taunton.com/tp-knots either by editing the bookmark or by going to that page and bookmarking it. The page shows the ten most recent posts and the ten most recent visitors, and has a "Start Reading" button. Or you can click on one of the ten most recent posts to go directly to that post.
If anyone knows of a more direct way to get to the message reading page without bookmarking an old topic, I'd like to hear about it too.
Well Dunc, you were exactly right. I bookmarked that so long ago that I never made the connection. It was a small thing but it bothered me each time I logged in. Now I can get on with my life and worry about important things like wether or not hints about the crucial need for a 31/4 h.p. v.s. plunge router have been heeded ;). Thanks for straightening me out and Happy holidays.

Have you tried bookmarking the prospero login page.
If been using the browsers history function and the prospero login page for a while.
I never (intentionally) exit Netscape, so I want to go to the Knots start page much, much more often than I want to go to the login page. When I do need to log in, such as when I've just restarted Netscape, clicking on the start page bookmark gets me to the login page anyway, so I don't see much advantage in bookmarking the login page.
Thanks for asking, though. :)
I think you're it. I don't even see messages. I see the intro page, a list of whose showed up lately, and the house rules, I think (not that I ever read it).

I have never seen the discussion you refer to. Each time I log-on the list is different. I suspect Uncle Doug is correct.
