Try a book by Thomas Moser called: How to build shaker furniture, revised edition. It has many measured drawings including two candle stands. Mine is from 1980 but I know there is a newer version.

I know there had been some on the net and in some mags. Will look and see what I can find for you.
Turningnut,
Try the book called "In the Shaker Style" The Taunton Press puts it out. On page 57 Chris Becksvoort give you a measured drawing of a Shaker round stand.
Hope it helps,
Shaker

check out john kasay's book on shaker furninture "the book of shaker furniture" pgs 196-97 for a measured drawing of an original shaker candle stand.
Kasay's Book is excellent, but sometimes hard to find. Another source is, Making Authentic Shaker Furniture, by John G. Shea. It has measured drawings of items from the various Shaker sites. The most popular pedestal table is the one from the Hancock Shaker Village, Hancock, Mass. and detailed on P.183 of Shea's book. It is available from Dover Publications, Inc., NY. I have built a number of these tables, mostly from Cherry and a few of Maple, for a Shaker museum in this area. They are fun to do. I finish them with 6 to 8 coats of Garrett Hack's oil finish and two coats of his wax finish. They look great! presbob
I was also looking for plans to build a shaker candlestick stand and came across a good article in FWW issue 110 pages 70-73. It is titled "build a shaker round stand" by Christian Becksvoort. The article has plans and instructions.
Good Luck!
Bill
John Shea also has a nice book on Shaker furniture. I've made several candlestands from this one.

I just received the current issue (March) yesterday of American Woodworker. A Shaker Stand is their featured project this issue. Check it out at the newsstand. Could be what you're looking for.Be not afraid of going slowly. Be afraid only of standing still. chinese proverb
I have purchased a couple of the books listed here and I saw the article in American Woodworker. I am going to build 2 stands out of cherry. Thanks again for all the great information.
